Privacy Policy
Last updated August 23, 2026.
This is a simple starter Privacy Policy for Tindy. It explains what we collect and how we use it. Please review it with your own legal counsel before launch. It is a starting point, not final legal text.
Information we collect
When you join our beta we collect the email address and the use case description you submit. If you use the Tindy app, we store the items and records you choose to create, such as room names, item outcomes, and photos.
How we use your information
We use your email to contact you about the beta and about Tindy. We use your app data to provide the product to you, such as showing your progress and building your export summaries. We do not sell your personal information.
Data storage and security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
You may ask us to access your data at any time by contacting us. If you unsubscribe from the beta, we will remove your email from our beta list. See "Deleting your account" below for how to delete your data entirely.
Deleting your account
You can delete your Tindy account, and everything in it, at any time. There are two ways to request it:
- In the app. Tap your profile icon in the top-right corner of the Tidy tab, scroll to the bottom of the You screen, and tap Delete Account. Once you confirm, your account is deleted immediately.
- By email. Email hello@tindy.app from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. We'll verify it's you and complete the deletion within 30 days.
What we delete
Deleting your account permanently removes your profile and sign-in details; your rooms and items (names, categories, conditions, dispositions, and photos); your tidy session history, scans, and maybe box; your reminder and schedule preferences; your podcast progress; your achievements; your donation receipts, including any receipt images stored with us; your in-app activity history; and any push-notification tokens tied to your devices. This can't be undone.
What we may keep, and for how long
- Residual copies of your data may briefly remain in our encrypted backups after deletion from our live systems, until those backups are overwritten during our routine backup rotation.
- If you made a purchase, Apple, Google, and our payments processor, RevenueCat, keep their own transaction records under their own retention policies. We don't control that data, and deleting your Tindy account does not delete it.
- We may retain limited information where the law requires it, or as needed to resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.
- We may keep de-identified or aggregated information that can no longer be used to identify you.
